Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialised Physiotherapist to join our team at Pulse Healthcare. As a Specialised Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to students with severe/profound and complex learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop tailored intervention plans to promote the academic, social, and employment potential of our students.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure seamless communication and transition of care for students.
  • Leadership and Development: Lead aquatic therapy sessions, complete relevant risk assessments, and design clinically effective programmes.
  • Caseload Management: Manage a varied caseload efficiently, ensuring high standards of care and effective use of resources.
  • Equipment and Training: Advise and order specialist equipment for mobility and postural control, and provide training to staff and carers on its proper use.
  • Service Development: Support service development and take ownership of specific clinical areas as required.
  • Research and Governance: Participate in and contribute to departmental research, clinical governance, and audit projects.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications and Experience: Recognised degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent, current UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration, and significant experience at Band 5/6 level, particularly with students who have severe/profound learning disabilities, mental health needs, and/or Autism.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical setting.
