Senior IT Engineer - 3rd Line Support - Cloud - Rothstein Recruitment

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Engineer to take on a pivotal role in enhancing, maintaining, and supporting IT Services within a dynamic environment. This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about technology and enjoys working proactively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering 2nd/3rd line operational support for IT services, including collaboration with external service providers.
  • Assisting IT Application and Change Delivery Teams with ongoing IT Operations maintenance and enhancement initiatives.
  • Designing, implementing, and sustaining complex IT infrastructure solutions tailored to meet business requirements.
  • Providing technical expertise during IT Infrastructure Changes at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and assisting with the implementation of changes as necessary.
  • Monitoring system performance and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborating with various IT teams to ensure the security and integrity of systems.
  • Staying informed about the latest technology trends and offering recommendations for enhancements.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation and standards for IT infrastructure operations.
  • Offering technical guidance and support to other IT teams and business units.
  • Participating in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders, including senior management, to present technical solutions and strategies.
  • Working alongside the IT Operations Manager, Chief Technology Officer, and external specialists on the design of new IT platforms.
  • Promoting and utilizing the organization’s technology platforms to enhance the services delivered to users and clients.
  • Collaborating on projects and changes to leverage existing platforms for delivering enhancements and new services aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Supporting the development and enhancement of cloud services (IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in the financial services sector (preferred).
  • ITIL V4 foundation certification (minimum requirement).
  • Experience managing Microsoft Azure service models (IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS).
  • Azure Administrator Associate Certification, AZ-104 (preferred).

Essential Competencies/Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively within a small team.
  • Strong analytical thinking, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Experience in managing and delivering IT platforms.
  • Proactive mindset and innovative thinking.
  • Experience with Office 365 administration, including Microsoft Teams.
  • SQL Server management experience.
  • Familiarity with ITSM systems (experience with Sunrise is beneficial).
  • Expertise in server management, VMWare, and SAN.
  • General network administration and troubleshooting skills (Firewalls, VLANs, subnetting, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, etc.).
  • Over 3 years of experience specializing in supporting and administering Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Desktops (Windows 10), and Applications (M365).
  • Experience with PAAS IT Monitoring Tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog).
  • Experience supporting and utilizing Microsoft System Centre (SCCM).
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
