About the Role:

The Leaving Care/Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) Service is designed to provide comprehensive support for young individuals aged 16 to 25, assisting them in achieving independence. As a Practice Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the service, engaging with a diverse range of challenges and rewards while working closely with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Care Leavers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and mentor a team of Social Workers and Personal Advisors.
  • Enhance the quality of practice, inspire the team, and promote ongoing performance improvement.
  • Make informed management decisions regarding casework.
  • Lead initiatives related to Immigration and Asylum knowledge as well as Leaving Care legislation and practices.
  • Ensure active involvement of young people and their families in planning for optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with various agencies to help shape future services.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualifying experience in relevant childcare settings.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in a management capacity.
  • Management qualification is desirable.
