About the Role:
The Leaving Care/Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) Service is designed to provide comprehensive support for young individuals aged 16 to 25, assisting them in achieving independence. As a Practice Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the service, engaging with a diverse range of challenges and rewards while working closely with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Care Leavers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor a team of Social Workers and Personal Advisors.
- Enhance the quality of practice, inspire the team, and promote ongoing performance improvement.
- Make informed management decisions regarding casework.
- Lead initiatives related to Immigration and Asylum knowledge as well as Leaving Care legislation and practices.
- Ensure active involvement of young people and their families in planning for optimal outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with various agencies to help shape future services.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualifying experience in relevant childcare settings.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in a management capacity.
- Management qualification is desirable.
