Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a skilled commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Senior Corporate Counsel – Real Estate supporting AWS, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within the cloud computing and service industry.


As part of the AWS real estate legal team, you will be responsible for supporting AWS's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions and leasing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals
  • Providing legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis
  • Structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements and leases
  • Managing outside counsel and advising internal business clients
  • Developing, implementing, and managing process improvements across the team
  • Resolving legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships
  • Handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries


The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer with at least ten years of post-qualification legal experience as a real estate lawyer
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating contracts in English
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Enthusiastic, enjoy working hard, being challenged, and working in a fun, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills
