Position Overview:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will utilize your expertise to ensure the mechanical upkeep of all operational functions and machinery within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to Heidelberg Materials' Sustainability Policy.

Maintain effective communication with Heidelberg Materials staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Support electrical and production teams as necessary.

Prioritize health and safety for yourself and others.

Provide out-of-hours emergency maintenance support as scheduled with the management team.

Utilize resources safely and effectively.

Document all accidents, near misses, and incidents.

Ensure that all maintenance tasks are executed according to established schedules and protocols.

Accurately record all maintenance activities for future reference.

Maintain workshops, equipment, and facilities in good condition.

Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are prepared for planned tasks.

Safely operate machinery for which you are trained and qualified.

Contribute to the enhancement and development of existing plant and equipment.

Assist in coordinating planned shutdowns to ensure all maintenance work is completed.

Additional Duties:
Provide coverage for plant operators during holidays and sickness, which includes taking plant samples, performing maintenance tasks, cleaning duties, and acting as a deputy for the Miller.

Ensure proper isolation procedures are followed.

Supervise subcontractors as required.

Work at other Heidelberg Materials locations as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas at all times.

Manage the correct storage and distribution of oils, lubricants, and gases.

Identify and address any unacceptable spillages within the plants.

Perform any other duties as required by the position.

Authority:
Shut down processes when there is a risk to personnel, the environment, or equipment.

Adjust plant parameters to meet quality standards and performance requirements or to safeguard equipment.

Possession of certified mobile plant driving licenses (Forklift, Bobcat, Loading Shovel, MEWP).

Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Systematic approach to problem-solving and finding solutions.

Thorough understanding of electrical isolation and permitting procedures.

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in mechanical or welding and fabrication disciplines.

Ability to diagnose faults effectively.

Basic planning capabilities.

Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Flexibility regarding tasks and working hours.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Adherence to all aspects of Heidelberg Materials' Sustainability Policy.
