Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional to guide the organization in the development and deployment of ethical and reliable data-driven technologies. Collaborating closely with the Responsible AI & Data Science (RAIDS) Senior Director and their team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and refining policies, standards, and best practices. Your efforts will help foster a culture of risk management in algorithm usage throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage your expertise in data strategy, governance, and AI ethics to conduct and maintain comprehensive market analyses. Continuously evaluate industry best practices, identifying potential threats and opportunities.
- Offer strategic insights on facilitating organizational change within Elsevier, focusing on the effective implementation of the RELX Responsible AI Principles.
- Perform research and analysis on operational efficiency, processes, and stakeholders involved in AI governance. Drive the development and refinement of governance artifacts, including data cards, model cards, and algorithmic impact assessments.
- Expand the internal RAIDS Champions training initiative to ensure ongoing education and awareness. Provide support for product and data science teams in completing Algorithmic Impact Assessments and addressing issues in accordance with established policies.
- Advise on technology and AI policy across the organization, collaborating with governance leaders on compliance with emerging regulations, such as the EU AI Act. Assist the RAIDS Senior Director in steering executive decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Possess a strong background and keen interest in AI ethics and data governance, with current knowledge of the AI governance landscape.
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of ethics and diversity issues in sectors such as publishing, research, academia, and healthcare.
- Have familiarity with the data technology landscape, including insights into various tools and platform capabilities.
- Experience in delivering training, including the creation of training materials and the facilitation of workshops.
