About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Direct Payments Finance Officer to join our team at LB Richmond upon Thames & LB Wandsworth. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Direct Payments scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and process Direct Payments transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze financial records to identify potential mismanagement or irregularities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to service users, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with Social Work teams to ensure effective support and guidance to service users.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including service users, Social Workers, and other external partners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and advising the team accordingly.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a finance role, preferably in a public sector or social care setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages, including SharePoint.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of services provided.
