Job Summary

We have exciting opportunities for HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. Our laboratory provides a comprehensive 7-day service covering various disciplines, and we are looking for skilled professionals to work on a 24/7 rota system, including weekend and bank holiday shifts.

Main Duties

As a Biomedical Scientist, you will rotate across different sections, including bacteriology, mycobacteriology, mycology, virology, serology, and parasitology, as well as molecular testing. You will be required to work shifts, including early, day, late, and night shifts, and may be assigned to other parts of the laboratory as per service need.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • IBMS accredited BSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
  • IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology or Virology (from 2005) or working towards this qualification.
