Overview
A Store Manager at Pet Pros is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service while overseeing the store's daily operations. This role is crucial for maximizing sales and profitability through effective team management, product merchandising, and inventory oversight.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Store Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Mastering all roles within the store to support staff as needed.
- Training and mentoring team members to ensure every customer enjoys a welcoming shopping experience.
- Fostering a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for both customers and employees.
- Coordinating ongoing training sessions for staff regarding product knowledge and store policies.
- Building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Collaborating with the District Manager to create and execute strategies aimed at achieving store objectives.
- Managing inventory shrinkage, operational expenses, and payroll effectively.
- Ensuring optimal product presentation and stock levels across all departments.
- Training and supervising team members on standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Conducting regular meetings with management and staff to discuss store performance.
- Participating in store evaluations with District Manager and other corporate staff.
- Continuously developing team members through training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and staff termination processes in accordance with company policies.
- Evaluating employee performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Conducting quarterly assessments of team development and performance.
- Upholding safety standards and leading monthly safety meetings.
- Safeguarding store merchandise by adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Performing additional duties and projects as assigned.

Work Environment
This position operates within a retail setting, featuring merchandise displays and inventory available for purchase.
Position Type
This is a full-time role with varying hours, requiring flexibility to work during store operating hours, including weekends and potential extended hours.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to other locations for meetings and events may be necessary.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of retail experience.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
