Position Overview:

The role of a Senior Hydraulic Modeller is available within a dynamic and forward-thinking environmental consultancy. This organization is recognized for its commitment to delivering a comprehensive suite of technical services across multiple locations, fostering an environment for professional growth and skill diversification.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a relevant environmental or engineering field. A substantial background in hydrology, flood risk assessment, hydraulic modelling, and river engineering is essential, ideally gained through experience with both private and public sector clients. Candidates should be pursuing or have attained a relevant professional qualification from CIWEM or ICE.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with technical experts and project leaders to deliver modelling projects that meet budgetary, scheduling, technical, and quality benchmarks.
- Assume a pivotal role within the modelling team, managing a variety of projects ranging from small to large scale.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior modelling staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Essential Skills:

- Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling utilizing software such as Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, or HECRAS, along with MapInfo and ArcGIS.
- Capability to conduct hydrological evaluations using tools like the Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2, and WINFAP.
- Experience in generating and reviewing comprehensive hydrological assessments, hydraulic modelling reports, and Flood Risk Assessment documentation.
- Contribute to the development of fee proposals.
