Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is a 12-month locum consultant position, providing an excellent opportunity to work in a major trauma centre based in London.

About the Role

The Department of Anaesthesia provides a comprehensive service for all surgical specialties within Barts Health. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our anaesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including peri-operative care and pain management
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, making decisions and exerting appropriate authority
  • Build strong relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues
  • Cope with pressure and adapt to change
  • Contribute to the development of our anaesthesia services, including audit and research
Requirements
  • GMC registration
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • CCT in anaesthesia or equivalent
  • FRCA or equivalent
  • ALS/APLS
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of the UK healthcare system
  • Higher degree
  • Experience in anaesthesia specialties
  • Clinical management training
