This role is designed to ensure that individuals and families can maintain their housing stability and transition to permanent housing solutions.
Role Objectives: The primary aim of this position is to deliver a responsive and customer-oriented tenancy support service that assists residents in sustaining their temporary accommodation and successfully moving into secure housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-quality tenancy support service, adapting to the evolving needs of residents and relevant legislation.
- Facilitate resident inductions, issue license agreements, and conduct group meetings to foster community engagement.
- Assist residents in building support networks and participating in local community activities.
- Ensure residents access necessary support as outlined in their Personal Housing and Move On plans.
- Make referrals to appropriate support agencies, empowering residents to manage their finances and enhance their independence.
- Process housing benefit and discretionary housing payment claims to mitigate the risk of rent arrears.
- Collaborate with finance officers to address non-payment issues effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of income received and ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Attend court proceedings related to evictions when necessary.
- Support the preparation of documentation for tenancy suitability reviews and court cases.
- Perform administrative and reception duties as required.
- Ensure resident records are meticulously maintained and updated.
- Monitor building access, ensuring compliance with signing in and out protocols.
- Report any safeguarding concerns and health & safety risks to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct routine safety checks, including fire alarm tests and health & safety inspections.
Candidate Requirements:
- Possession of a clear Enhanced DBS check.
- Strong proficiency in English and Mathematics.
- Experience in customer service, preferably within a housing context.
- Background in frontline service roles, particularly with vulnerable populations.
- Proven experience in delivering tenancy support services.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment with strict deadlines.
- Experience in handling complex and sensitive situations with empathy.
- Strong collaboration skills with communities, partners, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with administrative procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and health & safety standards.
- Confidence in fulfilling spoken aspects of the role in English as required by immigration regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a dynamic workload.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and cover shifts at short notice.
