Job Opportunity

**University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust** is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Nursing Associate or Associate Practitioner in our Neonatal Services.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work across our neonatal services, including our Transitional Care Unit and our new 'Woodland Ward' Special Care Baby Unit. As a Nursing Associate or Associate Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, family-centered care to babies and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care for babies and their families, supporting the ethos of family-integrated care.
  • Work under the supervision of a registered Midwife/Nurse and as part of the Multidisciplinary Team.
  • Support new parents and babies to stay together, working alongside the multidisciplinary team to avoid unnecessary admission to the neonatal unit.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, providing guidance, advice, and support to enable them to care for their baby.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide a welcoming, caring, and safe environment for all.
Requirements
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register, or an Associate Practitioner with a Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience working with newborn babies and birthing people is desirable.
  • A positive attitude to providing family-integrated care within a busy environment.
  • Good evidence of ongoing personal development and a commitment to undertake further training.
  • A flexible approach to supporting the service in a fast-paced changing department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a range of shifts across two areas to meet the needs of the neonatal services.
  • A satisfactory DBS is required.
