Job Overview

Elevate your engineering expertise by joining a distinguished team at JP Morgan Chase. As a Principal Security Engineer within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls (CTC) division, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-tier cybersecurity software solutions that meet established functional and user requirements while proactively preventing misuse and malicious activities.

The CTC group at JP Morgan is dedicated to aligning the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls, and resiliency initiatives. This group strategically collaborates with various business lines to design, implement, and integrate robust controls, ensuring efficient and consistent delivery of processes and solutions while driving automation.

This position is part of the Product Security team, which is integrated with the Cloud Foundational Services (CFS) technology organization. CFS serves as the central hub for all public cloud capabilities at JP Morgan, and the Product Security team is tasked with ensuring these operations are secure and compliant. In this role, you will serve as the Security Lead for the firm's Google Cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership in identifying and managing risks and controls for all technology solutions.
  • Work independently to implement changes, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identify and deploy tools and processes that facilitate efficient data sharing while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new security-related products and services.
  • Assist in the forensic analysis of security incidents.
  • Continuously monitor emerging technology trends and assess their implications on the overall security control framework.
  • Drive thought leadership in security engineering within the product line.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
  • Promote the firm's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering principles with extensive practical experience.
  • Experience in Security Architecture with a proven track record in leading, designing, and delivering technology solutions.
  • Ability to influence diverse groups and individuals to achieve high-quality and timely outcomes.
  • Proficient in navigating complex infrastructures involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience leading within a cross-functional technology organization, empowering team members, and building rapport in a collaborative environment.
  • Advanced understanding of industry-leading security practices.
  • Knowledge of business operations and awareness of current internal and external threat landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CCSP, CISA, CISSP, CISM, or other relevant information security credentials are advantageous.
  • Google Cloud Developer, Architect, or Security certifications are highly desirable.
