Position Overview

The Orthopaedic Physiotherapy department is seeking a motivated and committed Physiotherapy Support Specialist to become a vital member of our established team on a fixed-term basis.

Our institution is recognized for its excellence in patient care and is dedicated to providing high-quality rehabilitation services.

The physiotherapy team consists of experienced physiotherapists and support staff who collaborate closely to deliver comprehensive care for patients with various orthopaedic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physiotherapists to assist in the treatment of patients recovering from orthopaedic procedures.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting physiotherapists in mobilizing patients shortly after surgery.
  • Supporting patients with therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation programs.
  • Helping patients with mobility and ambulation.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as managing equipment inventory, issuing mobility aids, and maintaining patient records.
  • Participating in the collection of service data and ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.

Comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided, including the opportunity to develop competencies under the guidance of experienced supervisors. You will also participate in weekend physiotherapy services as part of a team.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic proficiency in English and Mathematics.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a physiotherapy or healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of rehabilitation practices.
