About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Programme Manager to join our Innovations team. As a key member of the team, you will foster close collaboration with the Business Development team and play a pivotal role in the delivery of new activities and funding calls aimed at expanding the NIHR offer to industry and its engagement with investors.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of exciting projects led by small and medium enterprises, academia, and NHS Trusts, which are striving to make an impact in the NHS and the UK economy. Your key responsibilities will include programme operations and commissioning, due diligence, contracting, and portfolio management, as well as communications and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programme strategies to drive innovation and growth
- Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs
- Build and maintain relationships with innovators, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders
- Contribute to the generation of case studies and participate in the planning of events, workshops, and webinars
Requirements
- Good understanding of the health and social care innovation ecosystem, including product development and translational research pathways
- Experience of working in research management, technology transfer, or health tech accelerators
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proven experience in managing diverse internal and external relationships, with a strong focus on commercial aspects
