Job Title: Oncology Triage Specialist Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our Oncology and Haematology Triage Team as a Specialist Practitioner. The successful candidate will provide expert telephone assessment and management to patients with oncological and haematological conditions, ensuring timely and effective care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert physical and telephone assessment to patients contacting or attending the Cancer and Haematology Centre.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver co-ordinated programmes of care effectively.
  • Assess health and psychosocial needs of individual patients, and provide care to meet these needs, through a process of shared decision making.
  • Liaise closely with operational managers, ward co-ordinators and ward to effectively manage emergency patient flow into cancer services.
Requirements:
  • Registered nurse (part 1, 8, 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice).
  • Postgraduate level study (HEI level 7) or demonstrable post graduate level working evidenced via a continuous professional development portfolio.
  • First level degree (HEI level 5 or 6) in nursing, midwifery or equivalent.
  • Relevant specialist post basic programme to Master's Level or equivalent.
