About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our Oncology and Haematology Triage Team as a Specialist Practitioner. The successful candidate will provide expert telephone assessment and management to patients with oncological and haematological conditions, ensuring timely and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert physical and telephone assessment to patients contacting or attending the Cancer and Haematology Centre.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver co-ordinated programmes of care effectively.
- Assess health and psychosocial needs of individual patients, and provide care to meet these needs, through a process of shared decision making.
- Liaise closely with operational managers, ward co-ordinators and ward to effectively manage emergency patient flow into cancer services.
Requirements:
- Registered nurse (part 1, 8, 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice)
- Postgraduate level study (HEI level 7) or demonstrable post graduate level working evidenced via a continuous professional development portfolio
- First level degree (HEI level 5 or 6) in nursing, midwifery or equivalent
- Relevant specialist post basic programme to Master's Level or equivalent
