Position Overview

Title: Environmental Sustainability Lead – UK & EMEA

Reports to: Managing Director UK & EMEA

Role Objective:

The primary aim of this position is to spearhead a comprehensive sustainability transformation initiative across Armstrong Fluid Technology's operations in the UK, Middle East, and Europe (EMEA). This role is pivotal in integrating the Planet Proposition (PP) into our core business practices, establishing Armstrong as a frontrunner in sustainable building solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the global sustainability strategy and objectives across the UK & EMEA regions.
  • Lead the compilation of data for monthly performance plans.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly meetings focused on the UK & EMEA PP.
  • Drive campaigns in collaboration with local and regional teams to enhance sustainability engagement.
  • Ensure timely completion of action items from monthly UK PP meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management reports covering environmental, waste, and sustainability performance metrics.
  • Contribute to quarterly Global PP meetings with relevant data.
  • Participate in Sustainability Reviews and provide necessary insights.
  • Monitor and advise on emerging legislation and associated risks.
  • Assist in developing an embodied carbon database through various methodologies.
  • Coordinate community projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing waste, particularly plastics and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain and update the Sustainability Questionnaire FAQ document annually.
  • Collaborate with Finance to establish annual energy contracts with a sustainability focus.
  • Empower the sales team to leverage sustainability as a competitive advantage.
  • Manage annual SECR data and ensure effective use of the ClearVUE reporting platform.
  • Assist the marketing team in generating sustainability content for various platforms.
  • Act as a key resource for the EMEA managing director and country leadership teams on sustainability matters.

  • Enhanced integration of the PP into Armstrong EMEA's strategic framework.
  • Reduction of the environmental impact across Armstrong EMEA operations.
  • Creation and execution of a roadmap towards Net Zero Buildings by 2030.
  • Increased sales driven by effective sustainability initiatives.
  • Improved stakeholder engagement regarding sustainability efforts.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of sustainability data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in sustainability, preferably within the HVAC sector.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and project management abilities.
