Job Title: Head of History

We are seeking a dynamic and well-qualified Head of History to join our effective, cohesive, and high-quality History department. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the wider life of the school and have an outstanding academic record.

About the Role

The Head of History will be responsible for leading the History department, developing and implementing the curriculum, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have a passion for History and a commitment to excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the History department and develop a curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning in History, including lesson planning, delivery, and assessment
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes in History
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum
  • Contribute to the development of the school's educational vision and strategy
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

A strong academic background in History, including a degree and teaching qualificationExperience of leading a History department or similar roleExcellent teaching and leadership skills, with a commitment to excellence in educationStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and parentsA passion for History and a commitment to its place in the curriculum
