Education and Training Facilitator

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dovetail and Slate as a full-time Literacy and Reading Facilitator in a prison education setting.

As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with tutors and staff to provide support to learners with neurodiverse and inclusion needs, including those with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify the neurodiverse and inclusion needs of individual prisoners through the screening process.
  • Coordinate, deliver, and manage the allocation of support to those with a learning support plan.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the learning experience for learners with diverse needs.
  • Collaborate with tutors to provide targeted support and resources to learners.
  • Manage a caseload of learners with neurodiverse and inclusion needs, including those with disabilities.

Requirements:

  • Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics.
  • To hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 qualification for Inclusion Support Coordinators within an agreed timescale.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills in relating to prison staff and working with students who may have little experience of education and training.
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the SEND Code of Practice.
