Functional Skills Educator

About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires delivering high-quality English and Maths Functional Skills training to learners in a prison setting. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for identifying individual learning needs, creating comprehensive lesson plans, and engaging with learners to increase retention.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of learners
- Conduct regular progress reviews to ensure training meets individual goals
- Collaborate with the education department to provide a supportive learning environment
- Actively seek feedback from learners and stakeholders to improve curriculum content
- Motivate and engage learners to increase retention and achievement
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics
- A Degree or professional qualification relevant to the role
- Teaching Qualification
- Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies
