About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring educator to join our team at HMP Dovegate as a Functional Skills Tutor. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our learners, helping them to achieve their goals and develop the skills they need to succeed in their future careers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in education, ideally with experience of working in a custodial environment. You will be a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal and written skills, able to form strong relationships with learners, colleagues, and other stakeholders. You will also have a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, with a focus on learner retention and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to learners, including preparation, marking, and monitoring of student progress.
- Develop and prepare flexible learning materials, schemes of work, and examination papers.
- Engage in core duties, including mentoring and playing an active role in the marketing of the provision.
- Record and monitor key data, including retention, achievement, and success rates.
