About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate/Partner to join our Compensation Protection Unit (CPU) at Browns Recruitment Consultancy Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal advice to clients in a commercially astute manner, while maintaining a consistent level of excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective and efficient delivery of work on own files, ensuring matters are profitable, while taking responsibility for the supervision of more junior fee earners with regards to file management and time recording.
  • Act as the senior lawyer on the most challenging matters, providing expert guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Expand your area of business by broadening your area of expertise into new client sectors or markets, or achieving greater market share.
  • Lead on the generation of thought leadership based on changes in the law, market trends, or other relevant material to attract new opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for developing department know-how and marketing materials, and supporting others in the team.
  • Provide leadership and management for the team, setting SMART objectives and providing support to help the team achieve these.
  • Actively manage performance within your team, ensuring that all team members are meeting their targets and contributing to the success of the department.
  • Develop yourself and others in line with the Leadership behaviours and embody our values both internally and externally, supporting and engaging in firm-wide events.
  • Be responsible for managing and supervising work in the team to achieve all financial and non-financial KPIs, using management information to understand the performance of self and team.
  • Ensure profitability on matters for self and team through understanding the contractual basis on which legal services are provided, including how to calculate and manage costs and bill clients.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 7+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Previous experience of working with or alongside Professional Deputy/Attorneys/trustees.
  • Experience of making applications to the Court of Protection.
  • Exceptional client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior lawyers.
