About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Traffic Engineer to join our team at Gloucestershire County Council. As a key member of our highway engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects from inception through to design and construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of engineers to deliver projects that meet quality, cost, and time objectives
  • Lead the financial and contractual management of projects, ensuring successful delivery and value for money
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project managers and other stakeholders
  • Line manage and mentor a team of engineering staff to ensure their wellbeing and professional development needs are met
About You

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of highway engineering and a proven track record of delivering complex projects. You will have significant experience in producing design solutions, preparing contract documents, and working with contractors. You will also have expert knowledge of design legislation, standards, and guidance.
