Civilian Investigator

Reed Secure is a specialist provider of recruitment solutions for security cleared professionals.
We are seeking a Civilian Investigator to cover an existing workload within Hampshire Constabulary, based in Southampton or Isle of Wight.
This is an interim position for an initial 12 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.
Job Purpose:- To investigate priority volume crime as a case officer and to assist in the investigation of serious and complex crime.
- As a Case Officer, identify and plan own investigative actions to achieve investigatory objectives.
- To assist with the investigation of serious and complex crime under the supervision, guidance, and mentoring of a PIP 2 investigator.
- Utilize a range of appropriate investigative approaches to gather material, placing the victim at the centre of all actions and decisions.
- Liaise and work with other investigators, specialists, and managers to establish and use appropriate methods for gathering material and to develop procedures to turn material into intelligence or evidence.
- Collect and gather material, intelligence, and evidence from a range of sources that are appropriate to the serious and complex nature of the investigation.
- PIP level 1 or PIP level 2 accredited.
- Recent (last 5 years) investigative experience demonstrating assessments of risk and harm and suspect and witness interviewing.
- Demonstrable experience of complex information gathering and problem-solving.
- A detailed understanding of the criminal justice system.
- Good communication skills with the ability to listen, empathize, provide support, and adapt language, form, and message to meet the needs of different people/audiences.
- Skilled in the use of IT packages, systems, and/or databases to fulfill role requirements.
A competitive salary of PIP1 £15.96 per hour PAYE and PIP2 £17.58 per hour PAYE, as well as great benefits such as discounts, cashback offers, and more, and weekly pay.
