Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating priority volume crime as a case officer and assisting in the investigation of serious and complex crime. As a Case Officer, you will identify and plan your own investigative actions to achieve investigatory objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To investigate priority volume crime and assist in the investigation of serious and complex crime.
  • To identify and plan own investigative actions to achieve investigatory objectives.
  • To assist with the investigation of serious and complex crime under the supervision, guidance, and mentoring of a PIP 2 investigator.
Requirements:
  • PIP level 1 or PIP level 2 accreditation.
  • Recent investigative experience demonstrating assessments of risk and harm and suspect and witness interviewing.
  • Demonstrable experience of complex information gathering and problem-solving.
  • A detailed understanding of the criminal justice system.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to listen, empathize, provide support, and adapt language, form, and message to meet the needs of different people/audiences.
  • Skilled in the use of IT packages, systems, and/or databases to fulfill role requirements.
