Northumberland Park Medical Group is a reputable healthcare facility dedicated to delivering patient-focused services to a diverse patient population.

We are in search of a General Practitioner to join our team, working between 4 to 6 sessions weekly.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all standard duties and obligations associated with a General Practitioner in a primary care setting.

Job Duties

Clinical Duties:

In accordance with the practice schedule, the post-holder will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, including:

  • Conducting surgery consultations and telephone consultations
  • Visiting patients at home
  • Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Addressing queries, paperwork, and correspondence promptly

Making informed, independent decisions regarding patient care, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals.

Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undiagnosed conditions.

Screening patients for potential health risks and early signs of illness.

Developing care plans in collaboration with patients, adhering to current disease management protocols.

Providing counseling and health education to patients.

Managing patient admissions and discharges, and referring to other healthcare providers as necessary.

Maintaining clear and accurate consultation records in accordance with established standards.

Collecting data for quality improvement purposes.

Issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, minimizing handwritten prescriptions.

Prescribing in line with the practice's formulary whenever clinically appropriate.

Overall, the post-holder will be expected to fulfill all standard duties and responsibilities associated with a General Practitioner in a primary care environment.
