About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Practitioner to join our team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). As a Medical Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing primary and occupational healthcare to our patients, ensuring that they receive the highest level of care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
  • Maximising the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met.
  • Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and providing appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
  • Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.
  • Representing the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) on Medical Practice related issues where necessary, including participation in unit health committees where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Registration with the UK General Medical Council (GMC), and on the GP Register.
  • Holding a current Licence to practice.
