Key Responsibilities:

Operational HR:

  • Lead and manage all operational HR functions, including legal compliance, training, onboarding, policy development, payroll, and employee relations.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of HR processes and policies, ensuring they align with best practices and reflect our company culture.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues, providing guidance on dispute resolution, grievances, and absence management.
  • Advise and support business leaders on HR matters, promoting best practices throughout the organization.
  • Identify HR-related business risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Manage sponsorship licenses and support visa processes for employees as needed.

Training and Development:

  • Oversee the company's competency management tools.
  • Implement policies and practices for learning and development.
  • Design and deliver tailored in-house training programs.
  • Coordinate external training and secure funding for training initiatives.
  • Manage the probation review process for new hires, ensuring effective engagement.
  • Administer the appraisal process comprehensively.

Payroll & Benefits:

  • Maintain salary scales for various roles and grades.
  • Administer monthly payroll and maintain payroll records.
  • Provide guidance on payroll-related inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of company benefits, working closely with our benefits broker.
  • Collaborate on reward strategies to optimize employee benefits within budget constraints.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and present monthly reports to the Board, including headcount analysis and absence tracking.
  • Generate operational activity reports for the business.
  • Deliver HR updates during monthly staff meetings.

Personal Specification:

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • CIPD Level 5 or higher (or equivalent) with current membership is expected.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on HR experience, ideally in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience with sponsorship and the migrant worker process.
  • Able to work independently and manage a comprehensive HR function.
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
