Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Packaging Innovation Manager to join our team at Haleon. This role will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting new packaging building blocks to support our innovation pipelines and deliver our sustainable packaging goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a structured approach to scouting and evaluating emerging technologies and solutions for packaging innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Design, and Procurement, to drive innovation and efficiency in packaging development.
  • Manage a high-value funnel of emerging technologies and solutions, balancing platform contribution, identified opportunities, and capacity for pre-development.
  • Ensure the work product within the funnel is readily accessible and searchable through a curated digitally-enabled Active Library.
  • Drive awareness, connection, and contribution to the Active Library through the Packaging Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Track and measure the landing rate of integrated solutions into approved Technology Platform Roadmaps or Category/Business Unit innovation projects.
Requirements
  • Experience as a subject matter expert in R&D packaging, with the ability to engage at leadership level.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy and apply high-end digital search techniques.
  • Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate fluently on brand, consumer experience, sustainability, IP, sourcing, finance, operations, and supply chain.
  • Business acumen and ability to dynamise, integrate, and influence across BU R&D teams and partner functions to drive results.
  • Regarded as an expert practitioner in the application of front-end Open Innovation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging Science, Industrial Design, or related field.
