Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Nurse Locality Lead to join our dynamic team at Your Healthcare CIC. As a key member of our School Health Service, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled professionals to deliver evidence-based activities and interventions that promote the health and wellbeing of school-aged children and young people.

Main Duties
  • Lead a locality team of skilled staff to deliver evidence-based activities and interventions to promote health and wellbeing of school-aged children and young people.
  • Assess health needs and implement planned programs of care for safeguarded children and delegate work to appropriately skilled and trained team members.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider School Health team and 0-19 service to influence practice and development of the service offer.
  • Participate in the use of digital technologies to support service delivery and contribute to service developments across the School Health Service.
  • Act as a mentor to school health staff and participate in performance reviews and appraisals in accordance with Your Healthcare's policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with Specialist Practitioner Community Public Health Nurse Qualification (candidates with extensive experience in School Nursing Practice who do not hold the SCPHN qualification will be considered).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in School Health and Health Visiting, or equivalent community role.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Practice assessor.
Desirable
  • Contraception and Sexual Health qualification.
Additional Factors
  • A full DBS disclosure will be required.
  • Full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes or access to a bike, with facility to be able to transport bulky items such as measuring equipment.
