Senior Building Control Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Control Officer to join our successful building control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, supervising, mentoring, and training a diverse team of Inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective building control strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Inspectors to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that building control policies and procedures are aligned with the Council's overall strategy.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to developers, architects, and other stakeholders on building control matters.

Requirements:

  • Professional membership of RICS, CABE, or CIOB, with a record of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Registered with the Building Safety Regulator to Class 2D.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
