Job Summary:

Ringway, a leading market player in the Highways Term Maintenance Industry, is seeking an experienced Structures Manager to join its senior management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality works on structures, including bridges, culverts, subways, and retaining walls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with senior management, client representatives, and project managers to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation, including programmes, safe systems of work, and other relevant information, to client representatives.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of Highways industry standards, particularly in relation to works on structures.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely orders for works are received from clients and payment for those works is received.
  • Offer expert advice through Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) with client representatives to ensure designs for works are fit for purpose and buildable.
  • Oversee the construction process, ensuring all milestones are met and adhered to, following industry standards to ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001, and an excellent understanding of the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM2015).
  • Develop and implement processes to provide compliant safe systems of work, including temporary works processes, permitting systems, lift plans, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure the structures team is trained and competent to undertake their roles.
  • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to identify and allocate specialist resources as needed.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of working practices, including concrete placing and repair, masonry, stonework, lime mortars, reinforcing steel, bridge joints, waterproofing, watercourse management, industrial painting, and protective coatings.
  • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Experience in a construction/civil engineering management role.
  • Competence with using Microsoft Office computer programmes, such as Word, Excel, Project, TEAMS.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification.
  • ICE or equivalent industry qualification.
  • Temporary works coordinator.
  • Lifting appointed person.
