About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Esland Care. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our class teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group instruction to students, focusing on their academic and personal development.
  • Assist students in accessing our broad and balanced curriculum, including functional skills and life skills.
  • Support students in developing their independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to identify and address student needs, and to develop strategies for supporting students with challenging behaviors.
Requirements
  • Commitment to working with students with SEMH needs and a passion for making a positive impact on their lives.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating with colleagues and parents to ensure student success.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults, and to work constructively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of relevant policies and codes of practice, and awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
