Position Overview

The role of the Environmental Sustainability Coordinator is crucial in our mission to promote sustainable practices within the organization. As part of the Power T&D division, you will engage in meaningful work that impacts communities and the environment positively.

In this position, you will offer strategic direction and support to project teams regarding comprehensive environmental management. Your efforts will ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating on project design, implementing construction controls, identifying sustainability opportunities, and fulfilling client-led contractual obligations to align with our strategic objectives. Engaging with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and environmental authorities will be a key aspect of your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of Best Practice/Case Studies.
  • Aid in the preparation and submission of necessary consents and permits.
  • Support on-site teams by participating in training and assisting with evidence collection for monitoring visits.
  • Facilitate the completion of Business Management System documentation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare associated reports.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and testing activities.
  • Contribute to Sustainability Portal reporting and evidence collection.
  • Deliver training focused on environmental practices.
  • Review reporting requirements to identify areas for improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a valid driving license and be willing to travel as needed.
  • Hold a professional membership with a relevant body (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Have a solid understanding of environmental management principles and relevant experience.
  • Experience in a construction setting is preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of environmental regulations, including legislation, ecology mitigation, and consent applications.
  • Ability to mentor and guide Graduate Environmental Sustainability roles.
  • Recognize the value of collaborative efforts to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrate determination and excellent organizational skills to complete tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in data management and report writing.
  • Willingness to travel to various worksites and attend meetings as required.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Capable of stepping into more senior roles when necessary.
