About the Position
The role of an Environmental Sustainability Coordinator is crucial in our Power T&D division, where your contributions will significantly impact our projects and the communities we serve.
In this position, you will be responsible for guiding and advising our project teams on comprehensive environmental management practices, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the design and construction processes on-site, identifying sustainability opportunities, and fulfilling client-driven contractual obligations to help us achieve our strategic objectives. Engaging with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and environmental regulatory bodies will be a vital aspect of your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of Best Practice/Case Studies.
- Aid in the preparation and submission of necessary consents and permits.
- Support on-site CCS initiatives by participating in training and assisting with evidence collection for monitoring visits.
- Understand and contribute to the completion of BMS documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections and compile associated reports.
- Perform environmental monitoring and testing activities.
- Help with Sustainability Portal reporting and evidence collection.
- Deliver operational environmental training sessions.
- Review Sustainability Portal reporting to identify areas for enhancement.
Candidate Profile
- Valid driving license with the ability to travel as required.
- Professional membership with a relevant organization (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of environmental management principles and relevant experience.
- Background in construction environments.
- Practical knowledge of environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, licensing, and consent regulations.
- Ability to oversee and mentor Graduate ES roles within your portfolio.
- Commitment to collaborative work to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities with a focus on task completion.
- Proficient in data management and detailed report writing.
- Willingness to travel to various worksites and attend meetings as necessary.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Capability to step in for more senior roles when required.
