Position Overview

The role of a Critical Care Nurse Educator is pivotal in enhancing the quality of nursing care through education and support. We are seeking a passionate and proactive individual to join our esteemed Critical Care team as a Deputy Clinical Nurse Educator. This position focuses on addressing the educational requirements of our nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in direct clinical practice with new team members and students, facilitating their competency assessments. Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with senior nursing staff to identify and promote advancements in nursing practices.
  2. Exemplifying professional nursing standards, serving as a role model in the pursuit of clinical excellence.
  3. Ensuring compliance with the NMC Code and maintaining professional boundaries.
  4. Utilizing a comprehensive range of clinical skills to enhance patient care.
  5. Contributing to the formulation of policies and guidelines relevant to nursing practices within the Critical Care Complex.

About the Critical Care Complex

Our Critical Care Complex is a state-of-the-art facility comprising 28 beds, dedicated to providing intensive care for patients requiring level 2 and level 3 support across various specialties. Our multidisciplinary team, consisting of over 170 nurses and 15 critical care consultants, collaborates to deliver exceptional care to our patients.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Registered Nurse status on the appropriate NMC register.
  • Completion of a mentorship preparation program or equivalent.
  • Post-registration qualifications pertinent to the critical care specialty.
  • Significant experience at Band 5 level, including teaching and training roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with advanced clinical competencies.
