Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Building Surveyor to join our team at Calibre Search. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking building surveys, site inspections, and measured surveys, as well as drafting plans, sections, and elevations on computer-aided design software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake building surveys, site inspections, and measured surveys to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection.
  • Draft plans, sections, and elevations on computer-aided design software to support project development and implementation.
  • Prepare schedules of work and specifications for all types of maintenance and construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Produce feasibility reports to inform project decisions and optimize resource allocation.
  • Manage sub-consultants and contractors, providing project management and contract administration services as required.
  • Deliver contract administration services, including arranging meetings and collating project documentation.
  • Assist senior surveyors in carrying out condition and asset management surveys, as well as Party Wall Surveyor services.
  • Compile and monitor project costs in line with approved budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and management.

Requirements:

  • Be educated to at least degree level or equivalent in Building Surveying (RICS accredited).
  • Have a strong understanding of the standard forms of building contract, their application, and the duties of the Contract Administrator.
  • Be passionate about Building Surveying and committed to developing a career and achieving MRICS status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have experience working in a construction or property consultancy background.
  • Be familiar with computer-aided design software and have experience drafting plans, sections, and elevations.
