We are seeking a highly skilled Brand Designer to join our team at McLaren Applied. As a Brand Designer, you will be responsible for developing and testing embedded FPGA images to deliver into bespoke systems and products.
The FPGA is a fundamental part of our Motorsport ECUs used in some of the world's most prestigious motorsport series, including Formula 1, WEC, NASCAR, and IndyCar.
Key Responsibilities- Technically architect solutions to develop class-leading FPGA solutions within an embedded system.
- Anticipate and resolve problems in areas of FPGA design.
- Deliver solutions, following engineering processes for the benefit of the business.
- Develop technically and demonstrate new technology within commercial and market realities.
- Plan, schedule, and input to delivery of multiple concurrent projects (may work alongside Project/Engineering Manager) in line with business imperatives.
- Provide input into proposals, manage and communicate stakeholder requirements, resolve issues, and make decisions in line with business plans.
- First-class degree or upper 2nd in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience of FPGA development, particularly AMD Xilinx.
- Act as an experienced resource for the FPGA team.
- Delivery of design tasks and operate as an effective team member.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent technical knowledge.
- A track record of prioritizing, planning, and coordinating activities across skills sets to maximize resource utilization.
- Annual leave (25 days + bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time colleagues).
