About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infant Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Plymouth. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will work with infants, young children, and their families to provide consultation, assessment, and therapeutic interventions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with infants and young children, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. You will be responsible for delivering evidence-based targeted interventions, incorporating outcome measures, and maintaining high standards of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver consultation, assessment, and therapeutic interventions with infants, young children, and their families.
  • Co-ordinate and implement evidence-based targeted interventions, incorporating outcome measures.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care, ensuring the needs of infants and young children are met.
  • Liaise effectively with other CAMHS teams across the city, ensuring seamless care pathways.
  • Communicate clearly with children, young people, and their families, as well as other health professionals.
  • Actively participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Core qualification in nursing, social work, OT, or psychology, with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Postgraduate training in working with infants, young children, and families in mental health.
  • Practice supervisor and assessor training to support student nurses.
  • Experience of working within children's mental health, providing mental health assessments, interventions, and risk management.
