We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Logistics Line Runner to join our team at Caterpillar. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of parts and components to our production lines.
Key Responsibilities- Operate as part of the logistics team to deliver parts and components to production lines, adhering to specified work orders and customer-defined "tact times" and production sequences.
- Respond to exceptions and emergencies by communicating with customers, recording information, investigating root causes, and implementing problem-solving solutions.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools and techniques to optimize logistics processes and improve efficiency.
- Support logistics planned and unplanned absences, and train/coach logistics operators to standard work instructions.
- Enter data into Excel and various apps, analyze information, and investigate root causes to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in product/process improvement dialogues and contribute to the development of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S and TPM principles.
- Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, and Sustainability.
- Understanding of logistics processes and ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
- Demonstrable high level of aptitude and accuracy, with a fully flexible approach to the job role and responsibilities.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organization, with a willingness to undertake required training/learning.
- Ability to work a multi-shift pattern and possess a strong attention to detail.
