Job Role Overview


As a Logistics Line Runner at Caterpillar, you will be part of the logistics team responsible for delivering parts and components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines. Your key responsibilities will include operating as part of the logistics team, responding to customers, recording information, investigating root causes, and problem-solving.


Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions.
  • Support logistics planned and unplanned absences.
  • Train/coach Logistics operators to standard work instructions.
  • Data entry into excel and various apps, provide analysis, investigate root causes.
  • Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work.
  • Participate in product / process improvement dialogues as required.
  • Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM) Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices.
  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability.
  • Undertake training and further learning as required.

Requirements and Qualifications



  • Understanding of Logistics processes.
  • Demonstrable high level of aptitude and accuracy.
  • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities.
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
  • Attention to detail, able to work with own initiative and self-motivated.
  • You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organization.
  • Willing to undertake required training/learning.
  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar processes.

Benefits and Compensation


The Logistics Line Runner role offers a competitive salary package, including £26,750 rising to £28,100 once competent. Additionally, you will receive 27 days annual leave + bank holidays, Flexible Buy in Benefits such as Private Medical, Healthcare, Vision & Dental schemes and more, Share Scheme (50% Company Matched), Contributory Pension Scheme (Contribution double by Company up to 10%), Free Car Parking, and Caterpillar Advantage website.


Contract and Location


The Logistics Line Runner role is a permanent position, located at Desford, Leicestershire. The working hours are full-time – 37.50, and travel is not required.
