Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Logistics Line Runner to join our team. As a Logistics Line Runner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics processes, from receiving and storing materials to dispatching finished goods to customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate as part of the logistics team responsible for the delivery of parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, according to specified work orders.
- Respond to customers, record information, investigate root causes, and problem-solve to resolve exceptions and emergencies.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools and techniques while operating to customer-defined "tact times" and production sequences.
- Support logistics planned and unplanned absences, train/coach Logistics operators to standard work instructions, and data entry into excel and various apps.
- Participate in product/process improvement dialogues, cover the Team Leader's role in their absence, and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area.
- Understanding of Logistics processes and a high level of aptitude and accuracy.
- Fully flexible approach to the job role and responsibilities.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
- Attention to detail, able to work with own initiative and self-motivated.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organization.
- Willingness to undertake required training/learning and work a multi-shift pattern.
- Competitive salary package, including a salary of £26,750 rising to £28,100 once competent.
