Job Title: Senior Solicitor - Data Protection

KPMG is a leading global network of professional services firms that provides Audit, Tax & Legal, Consulting, Deal Advisory, and Technology services. Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor to join our Data Protection team in our Commercial Legal department.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned data protection lawyer with a strong background in advising clients on compliance with data protection laws, including the rules around marketing. The successful candidate will have experience in advising clients on complex data protection compliance issues, drafting information notices, and assessing joint controller status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in developing data protection strategies and advising on cross-border data transfers
  • Support clients with data protection elements of their transformation programs, including group restructuring, outsourcing, and large-scale technology programs
  • Advise on data ethics and provide robust and appropriate legal advice
  • Develop and broaden legal skills to include working on multi-disciplinary projects and being closer to the business side of these projects
  • Take responsibility for servicing and building part of the existing business of the team

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of PQE with experience in advising on compliance with data protection laws
  • Experience in advising clients on complex data protection compliance issues, drafting information notices, and assessing joint controller status
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills
  • Ability to deliver robust and appropriate legal advice and exercise sound judgment
