Job Title: Senior Solicitor - Data Protection

KPMG is a leading global network of professional services firms that provides Audit, Tax & Legal, Consulting, Deal Advisory, and Technology services. Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor to join our Data Protection team in our Commercial Legal department.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Solicitor with a strong background in data protection law to support the growth of our Data Protection team. The successful candidate will have experience in advising clients on compliance with data protection laws, including the rules around marketing. They will also have experience in advising clients on complex data protection compliance issues, drafting information notices, and responding to data subject rights requests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting clients in developing data protection strategies
  • Advising clients on cross-border data transfers
  • Supporting clients with data protection elements of their transformation programs
  • Advising on data ethics
  • Developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures
  • Liaising with the ICO on behalf of clients who have received complaints from data subjects
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of PQE in data protection/commercial law
  • Experience in advising clients on compliance with data protection laws, including the rules around marketing
  • Experience in advising clients on complex data protection compliance issues, drafting information notices, and responding to data subject rights requests
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
