Chemical Process Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute projects to improve plant efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee the dayshift team tasks and effectiveness, ensuring seamless operations.
- Issue RFQs for projects and manpower, ensuring timely delivery.
- Plan and schedule equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Order commodities to support production needs.
- Provide technical support to production teams, ensuring smooth operations.
- Conduct safety and FPS audits to ensure compliance.
- Assist in driving safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot and fault-find to resolve production issues.
- Identify and execute plant improvement projects to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in planning and executing plant shutdowns to minimize disruption.
- Assist in developing and updating operating procedures to ensure compliance.
- Ensure equipment inspection files are up to date.
Qualifications:
- B-Eng./ BSc Degree (NQF 8/10) in Chemical Engineering.
- Government Certificate of Competency (preferable).
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of engineering processes, fluid flow, and heat transfer.
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment, such as pumps, turbines, and heat exchangers.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and analyze plant data.
- Good knowledge and application of faultfinding.
