About the Role

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a Design Technology and Engineering Tutor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and design, with the ability to teach a range of vocational engineering and manufacturing programs.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of HND in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry standard qualifications and experience. They will also possess a recognized teaching qualification and assessor/IQA awards, or be willing to work towards these with funding support from the College.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of topics from engineering materials and processes to engineering design, as well as project-based teaching, supporting students to develop skills to create successful prototypes and solutions. General workshop skills are an advantage, any experience with Computer Numerical Control & Manufacture (Lathe & Mill), 2D / 3D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks), 3D printing/additive manufacture would be of benefit, but not essential.

What We Offer
  • 37 hours per week
  • Up to £40,109 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications)

  • Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) – worth up to £6,000 over two years
