Brewer Job Description

JW Lees Brewery is seeking a skilled Brewer to join our Production Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating across all production areas and assisting the leadership team with day-to-day operational management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver quality objectives in line with our ISO 9001 Quality System.
  • Malt handling, wort production, fermentation, conditioning, filtration, and cask and keg racking.
  • Yeast management and CIP of brewery lines, vessels, and packaging equipment.
  • Assist within the Laboratory, ensuring accurate data collection and record keeping.
  • Ensure good stock management for ingredients associated with the brewing process.
  • Follow written SOPs to maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure NAV requirements and data entry are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Stock movement and rotation using FLT, including front clamps.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of production plans to meet quality and delivery targets.
  • Participate in management training programs to assist with your continual personal development.
  • Promote the health and safety and welfare of all Production Team Members in accordance with all relevant legislation.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of hygiene for all plant and good housekeeping of the department and surrounding areas.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Must have a flexible approach to cover the demands of a busy production environment.
  • Experienced working within a brewing environment and hold a Level 4 Brewing apprenticeship or an IBD General Certificate in Brewing.
  • Positive and upbeat with a “can do attitude”.
  • Hardworking and self-motivated.
  • Will to learn new skills.
  • Able to display leadership behaviors, leading by example.
