CNC Milling Machinist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join our team at Smiths Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating 3 & 5 Axis CNC milling machining centres.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce high-quality parts
  • Prove out programs to ensure smooth running of production batches
  • Work with technical drawings to understand and execute machining tasks
  • Inspect and finish machined parts to meet quality standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production goals
Requirements:
  • Time served or Level 3 engineering qualification
  • Experience in CNC machining and setting on milling machines
  • Competency in finishing and inspecting machined parts
  • Working knowledge of Heidenhain or Siemens controls
  • Desirable: experience in Vericut, CNC programming, and Mastercam or similar CAM software
Working Hours:

Dayshift: Monday to Thursday (8.30am - 5.00pm) and Friday (8.30am - 4.00pm). Ability to work 12-hour shifts after training period.
